April had been a bit rough; end of the school year, studying, saying good-bye to good senior friends. Due to the fact that I was in season, it was very hard to manage my time between all my stories and softball. I believe that time management was my biggest lesson I learned during the month of April, this applies to the real world simply because you have to manage your time in everything you do, whether it is your career or even at home. Time management was also my weakest point this month because it is very hard adjusting to different schedules every week, to improve I need to get in the habit of managing my time early rather than later. For May, I want to strive to mange my time better and continue to grow throughout my writing and filming.

This month I made my first recap video, it came out really good and I will leave the video below soon. I really got in touch with IMovie and learned all these new cool features! As a young woman looking to pursue a career in communications, I feel like these is really a key concept that will put me over the average person that will be competing against me for a job. I really mastered the art of layouts, I made my layout look like a real magazine layout. I continue to only associate with certain journalism students and I really need to open myself up more to talking to new people because that is what journalism is. I want to really make next month a month to work on my layouts and improve them even more.
This month has been alright. I have earned an another unpaid internship working for RaiseMe. This month has been very slow, we finally published our January paper. Next month I will be publishing 2 articles and 2 broadcast pieces both having to do with baseball and softball. I have strengthened my writing immensely and my photography skills have improved too. This month I made my own broadcast piece highlighting our school's basketball team going to their first round of CIF and winning. My editing has improved and so has my video production skills. Next month I plan to produce more segments in our weekly broadcast. Here's too the new month. Till then...
I'm back, Happy New Year. I hope you are currently following your new year resolutions, if not-- it's okay because I am not either. This month has been pretty cool. I have earned an unpaid internship writing blogs for a website named Softball Lifestyle 101, I am writing about what I love and over 95,000 people see it. This month I also designed one of my best layouts I have ever made and I learned how to use new tools on Indesign. Next month I will be publishing 3 articles, I have strengthened my writing immensely and my photography skills have improved too. What I really need to improve on is cooperating with other people, I like to work independently but I need to learn how to work with others better. Next month I plan to improve on my cooperation with others and continue to improve on my writing. Here's too the new month. Till then...
Well the year is ending and finals are arriving...I am so glad to announce that we are now participating in "Photographer of the Day" (POD), POD is where everyday a JNN student posts news daily through pictures and videos on Instagram, I am SOOOO EXCITEDD!! This month I have improved my writing a lot more than last month because I have really tried improving. I have learned from the editor board what writing really is. Writing in JNN provides me with more of an advantage over other students because I am always improving in writing unlike the students who are only writing essays and such. This helps me in all my classes and in life in general because you use writing in everything. I can still improve on a lot of things such as my computer skills and photographer but there is always room for improvement. Next time I will write a blog it will be 2018. Till' then...
This month I have learned how to edit segments for our Jag Report, we have also been working a lot with video production. Learning this provides me to be more versatile in whatever I want to pursue in the future. I feel like I really mastered editing video and photos this month. I have also improved my writing. But I feel like it will improve over the next few months, there is always room for improvement. I have set a few goals for the future: write more than 2 stories, improve on quality of the stories, and sell an ad.
I learned how to use photoshop this month and this helped me crop out the background of my pictures. This skill can be applied to my future cause I plan to continue in journalism and it will stick with me. I really mastered InDesign this month and it portrayed in my layout for this month's newspaper. I believe I still need improvement on my writing because I am still learning. The goal I have set for this following month is to pay attention to the detail.
What I have learned this month is how alike I am to my group members and how we can help each other grow as a staff. This month I feel like I really mastered typing faster and more smooth. I have worked on giving better pitches and I actually have 2 stories being published in the paper. A goal that I have for this upcoming month is to produce better writing then I have ever before and how I can achieve that is by asking my editor for assistance.
Skills that I have obtained this month was learning how to use punctation and how to use it correctly. I've applied my new learnings in my writing for this month. This month I feel like I really mastered photography; I have been working on some new angles to take pictures from. A thing that I could improve on is not to procrastinate, I procrastinate about EVERYTHING. A goal I have set for next month is to first, not procrastinate so much and second, to absorb all the information given to me, like a sponge.
Some skills that I have obtained this month is how to write a 300 word feature story and take different types of photos, with different tones, moods, features, etc. I know I can also use these skills in the feature when I am a professional photographer or just taking pictures for fun. What I would like to learn by the end of the year is more information about writing good stories, I know we have went over writing stories over the course of the year, but I want more. I want to write better stories, which I can use in any class, like English.
